Three methods of charging electric vehicles
- Aug 22, 2018 -

As the name suggests, electric vehicles need electricity as a source of power, so they need to be charged after driving. We can roughly divide the charging methods into three types:

First, constant current charging. That is, the charging method in which the electric vehicle keeps the charging current constant during the charging process requires a small current and a long charging mode, and is more suitable for a power battery pack connected in series by a plurality of batteries.

Third, constant voltage charging. Refers to the charging method in which the electric vehicle maintains the charging voltage at a constant value during the charging process, so that the charging current can be increased at the initial stage of charging, and the charging current is gradually decreased as the battery electromotive force increases during the charging process. The charging time is shorter when charging.

Second, pulse charging. That is, using a pulse current to charge the battery is a fast charging method. It is characterized by first charging the battery with a pulse current, and then discharging the battery for a short time and a large pulse, which is completed by repeatedly charging and discharging the battery during the entire charging process.

Different charging methods will make the battery life of the electric car different, so we can comprehensively judge which charging method to use according to the driving distance of the electric car.
